Drone Crew on Film Set

Drone Use on Film Sets in BC

Over the past several years, Victoria, BC has reemerged as a premier destination for major film productions. Prestigious Hollywood features, numerous Hallmark movie-of-the-week projects, multiple Netflix originals, and several independent television series have established their base here. With three fully staffed crews—each exceeding 100 personnel—Victoria can accommodate three large-scale productions concurrently.

As proud members of ICG Union Local 669, the team at Aerial Vista has been privileged to oversee aerial cinematography for nearly every Hallmark production, Hollywood feature, and select Netflix specials filmed on Vancouver Island, including titles such as Super Pups, Phantom Pups, and Scaredy Cats.

With fourteen years of expertise in aerial videography, we have contributed to an array of high-profile projects: from National Geographic, Google and BBC wildlife documentaries to television series, commercials and an IMAX feature filmed in the breathtaking Great Bear Rainforest.

On every assignment, we deploy two drones and dual camera systems for absolute redundancy, supported by our own generator and a comprehensive array of lenses ranging from ultra-wide to long-telephoto.

We can even create 3D models of sets for storyboarding or insertion into the project.

Above all, we are committed to delivering the most dynamic, cinematic aerial imagery imaginable.
